As announced in church on Sunday, June 25th,
Bishop John Chapman has invited St James, Manotick, to join
with four other Anglican churches in the South Carleton
area to form an Area Parish.
The other churches are Holy Trinity, Metcalfe; St. Paul’s, Osgoode;
St John’s, Kars; and Holy Trinity, North Gower.
The plan is that these 5 churches would share a team of priests
equal to 3.5 full time positions.
Over the month of July, I will make myself available to meet
with members of St. James to share information,
answer questions as I am able, and to hear and note your responses
to this idea. The dates and times for these conversations are:
– Sunday, July 9, immediately following the 10 o’clock service
– Wednesday, July 12, at 7 p.m.
– Wednesday, July 19 at 7 p.m.
– Sunday, July 23, immediately following the 10 o’clock service
Because our building is used by the Manotick Arts Camp during the summer,
all these meetings will take place in the main worship space.
I look forward to talking with you.
