Organization

The parish of Saint James the Apostle is a part of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, presided over by the Bishop of Ottawa.  The priest, Fr. Ross Hammond, is in charge of all aspects of the liturgy, and is in effect the CEO of the parish.  He is advised by the Corporation,  consisting of the incumbent (priest) and the church wardens.  Parish Council, a larger body made up largely of representatives from parish organizations, recommends planning and policy initiatives, and acts as a clearinghouse for matters involving several parish groups.  Vestry is a body made up of all parishioners over the age of 16; it meets annually (or more frequently if necessary) to vote on major parish items such as the budget and substantial parish initiatives.
