Memorable Christians

saints_and_martyrs fade1 Throughout the centuries many Christians have achieved distinction.  Some have become known for their insight and teaching, others for service to their fellow Christians and to mankind, others for the strength of their faith.  We are reminded of the words of the Te Deum Laudamus, with its ‘glorious company of the Apostles’, ‘goodly fellowship of the Prophets’, and ‘noble army of Martyrs’.   For every one of these notable Christians, however, there is a host of others, less well known, except to God.  All of these people make up ‘the holy Church throughout all the world’.  A very small cross section of such memorable Christians is featured in this list.
